Aurora Quantum is the primary user interface to the Aurora Solution. This desktop application constructs and configures the schedule during the planning phase of the project, monitors the project’s progress in the executing phase, and upon-completion assesses the quality of the plan using as-built data.
Quantum delivers management, control, visualisation and analytical functionality to the Aurora Solution.
At the macro level, Quantum views and edits the definition of the project and manages libraries of reference data. Cross-project management tools configure project independent solution parameters including user authentication and authorisation within the system. Quantum edits the micro details of the project by the creation and manipulation of scheduled activities and project resources. Through an intuitive interface, Quantum enables the user to explore and modify their project. Data is imported, entered, edited, deleted, and exported through a collection of tools and dialogues.
The configuration and execution of Aurora’s project optimisation engines is via Quantum. Quantum allows the user to view the outcomes from optimisations scenarios and retain the preferred ones. This opens the possibility of modifying an optimised schedule and rerunning optimisation over it again.
Quantum manages the collection tool for as-built measurements and observations: Project Tracker. The plan for the project execution is determined by selecting a schedule with Quantum. Quantum assigns resources to the project, and releases the schedule to Project Tracker. As data is collected, Quantum monitors the project’s progress and, if needed, updates the execution plan.
Quantum is the hub of the Aurora Solution. It gives the solution the transparency to allow you, the user, to understand the details of the project, to see how a project is progressing, and to analyse the quality of a completed project. It is a toolbox of functionality presented in an interface designed to be familiar to the user. The interface is intuitive but retains a flexibility enabling it to be a generic solution to a number of different problem sets.
